Dimensional Letters & Logos

Dimensional Letters or 3D Letters are one of the most popular sign products used, to display your logo in reception areas, conference rooms, and even on a building’s exterior wall.

There are numerous choices when it comes to materials and finishes. We will work closely with you to determine what’s best for you, based on your project’s color, durability, and budget requirements.

Some of the most common materials include:

  • Foam
  • PVC
  • Acrylic
  • Formed Plastic
  • Chemetal (laminated plastic)
  • Aluminum
  • Brass
  • Stainless Steel
  • Cast Metal
  • Fabricated Metals (stainless, titanium)
  • Wood

There are also a few fabrication methods, of which routed or cut material are the most common. There’s also formed plastic which is hollow plastic letters made in molds they are relatively inexpensive and light weight.¬†There’s also laminated acrylic with metal finish applique sheet or Chemetal to make it look like solid metal letters. Cast metal letters are made using a mold and these type of letters are very durable but font choices are limited and custom shapes can be pricey. Fabricated letters become a practical choice when you want thickness but don’t want the cost of solid metal or the weight of it. Plus you can make this fabricated letters to be illuminated and add a nice glow to your logo.

Some products are made in stock colors and saves you the custom paint fee but in reality most customers have specific PMS colors requirements and that’s how the vast majority of logo dimensional signs are made, with custom colors.

Now let’s talk about mounting options. We can use double sided tape for the lighter weight letters; threaded stud or pin mounting for heavier letters. When using stud mounting you have the choice to use spacers or stand offs to offset the letters or sign board from the wall adding even more depth and impact.

A little note about wall damage. All types of permanent dimensional letter installation will cause some damage. Double sided tape will deface the drywall a little bit and stud mounting will leave small holes that need to be patched. When hired to do so we are extremely careful to cause the least amount of damage but you’ll need to contact your landlord to get in contact with their preferred handyman or painter person. AMI Signs does not do any sort of wall repair of painting.

In case you’d like to Reuse or Relocate an existing Dimensional Logo, we can help you with that. We’ll take a look at the specific project and give you our best estimate for whether the logo sign can be safely removed and re-installed. In most cases the answer will be yes but we’ll have to assess the risk in case by case basis.
